To apply for a Global Talent Visa extension, you must meet the criteria outlined under Appendix Global Talent of the Immigration Rules. The main requirements include:
- Valid Application Submission: The application must be properly completed and submitted in accordance with the requirements of Appendix Global Talent.
- Valid Endorsement or Prestigious Prize: Your endorsement must be active and not withdrawn or suspended at the time of application. If your visa was granted based on a prestigious award, the award must still be valid.
- 70 Points Requirement: You must score 70 points under the Global Talent points-based system.
- Age Requirement: You must be at least 18 years of age.
- Immigration Status: You must currently hold valid leave as a Global Talent or Tier 1 (Exceptional Talent) migrant.

How to Score 70 Points for a Global Talent Visa Extension
To successfully apply for an extension of your Global Talent Visa, you must demonstrate the following:
Requirement | Points available |
---|---|
An applicant making an initial application not relying on an endorsement: • has been awarded a qualifying prize listed in Appendix Global Talent: Prestigious Prizes. | 70 |
An applicant making an initial application relying on an endorsement: • has been issued with an endorsement letter by an endorsing body; and • the date of application is no more than 3 months after the date on the endorsement letter; and • the endorsement has not been withdrawn by the endorsing body. | 70 |
An applicant applying for an extension of their permission: • has met the earned money requirement; and • if they were granted their initial application using an endorsement, has not had their endorsement withdrawn by the endorsing body. | 70 |
