I am an in house lawyer who attempted two years ago, in a timely manner, to apply for my e-Visa through UKVI. I went through the steps - my online application was completed - the NOTHING. After some months I asked UKVI if there was an issue - and received a 'gobbledegook' response saying my eVisa had not issued due to a 'technical problem'. My case was by no means a straightforward or typical visa application.
